Hello everyone,
we are currently building the masonry 6x6m garage with a concrete ceiling and 24cm brick parapet. A slope towards the south is planned, and we have also placed the KG pipe in one corner there.
After some research, I am wondering, do I really need the slope? It is clear that 2% is generally better than 0°. The insulation is not important to me.
Sloped screed would quickly reach the area of several tons that need to be brought up and properly screeded. The statics would allow it. I will still talk to the roofer about it. It will certainly be well into four figures.
Insulation wedges also cost four figures in material, and then you cannot safely work with bitumen membrane and torch. I have not yet found cheap slope wedges without expensive WLG.
0° would be quite easy to make. Every X years the roof membrane needs to be renewed? That would basically not be rocket science. Does graveling help on a 0-degree roof?
What are your experiences with this? There are many unheated garages. All with insulation wedges?
Thanks!
