Good morning,
I have a problem that kept us awake at times last night :-(
We have renovated an old house and built an extension. The extension is constructed with a timber frame and has a flat roof. On the upper floor (so directly under the flat roof) is our bedroom and next to it a guest room. When it rains heavily, our rainwater downpipe makes a huge noise. However, it doesn't sound like flowing water but rather like something being dragged on the floor or something similar. Last night it rained heavily here and we even woke up because of it.
In the guest room next door, you can't hear this noise. And we have rainwater downpipes on both sides of the house.
Does anyone have an idea what can be done about it? Or is it normal to hear it that loud?
Thanks for your help.
Jasmin
