First soil assessment, then also soil analysis?

Hello everyone,

our house construction has been dragging on for a very long time now. Unfortunately, this was not foreseeable from the beginning, as unforeseen "responsibility issues" arose with the church. They are still involved because we are building with a hereditary building right. That’s the background.

We tried in advance to complete as many items as possible and had our soil report created at great expense in February. Last week, we had our first meeting with the civil engineer and today received a bill of quantities with the note:

"Please note that a soil analysis is required for the disposal of the soil. However, this is only valid for 3-6 months and must be created by the soil expert with a sampling protocol according to LAGA 2004. As a result, changes to the soil disposal item are still possible."

So wait a minute. Does this now mean that our report from February can no longer be used for disposal because... the expiry date of "3-6 months" has passed?

Do you know more about this? Unfortunately, I found nothing on the internet about "soil analysis only valid for a maximum of 6 months"...

P.S.: Aside from the fact that the other planning of our house construction already requires a soil report quite early so that the basement can be planned as soon as possible. So it might not fit with this time frame under certain circumstances.

Are two things possibly being confused here? In the soil survey, the soil composition and groundwater are examined, which is important for the structural engineering. The bath analysis checks for pollutants and similar substances due to disposal.

Could it be that you are confusing or mixing things here that do not belong together?
Soil survey means that the house stands securely or accounts for additional costs in foundation/excavation due to the soil classification.
Soil analysis is for calculating the disposal costs of the excess material. It could be that the soil is contaminated and has to be disposed of as hazardous waste. The landfill requires this.

Well, if it is stated there and required by the landfill, then so be it. Your contracting partner knows the acceptance conditions of the landfill for excavated soil, which is probably why it is mentioned there. Only you know exactly what you have commissioned now.

Soil analysis and geotechnical report are two different things.

Thanks to and ! That was the right impetus! I had actually assumed that the soil report also included a (chemical) analysis.
