Financing of purchase and renovation

Do you want to tell me why you can't do any work yourself? Two left hands? No desire? No time?

I have never done such things before and fear that it would turn out to be a mess that would not satisfy me. On the other hand, it's a matter of time — I would reluctantly have to burden my family by making them do without me on weekends when I already come home late from work during the week. The third aspect is that we practically have no helpers among friends and acquaintances who have experience in these matters or could take the time for it.

Then I think it's good that you see it realistically and don't plan any personal contribution. As I said, I think your setup is appropriate so far.
