Hello,
Unfortunately, our plot slopes down a bit and needs to be filled by about 80cm to 1 meter for the foundation slab at the lowest point.
We have not yet had any discussions with civil engineers. Could someone explain to me how to fill the ground for the foundation slab, with what materials, and what costs we should expect.
Floor plan 11x10m + garage 8x6m.
Thank you very much in advance.

Have you had a soil survey conducted? This also reveals how load-bearing your ground is. Do you have the height measurement? From this, the terrain profile and the corresponding high points can be determined. In my opinion, both are absolutely necessary before you can approach an excavation contractor. After all, the 80-100 cm might become 140 cm and then the question of a basement arises. Similar for us: We are building with an architect and were recommended by two different architects to build with a basement, to use the "deeper/shallower" part of the property as an office and guest room (which is also bright due to larger windows) and instead reduce the footprint of the house. Additional costs vs. slab about 25k, but with a full basement. That is worth it to us.

Hello. It will look similar for us and this week the shell builder starts his work. 4 weeks earlier than expected. The earthworks are included in the shell construction price. I can gladly arrange it on request. We will get strip foundations all around. And a 14cm XPS insulation on the floor slab. Regards relio

Gladly, how much do you have to fill?

Guys, it makes no sense to ask about any earth volume if you neither know the condition nor the elevation. What good is the answer "500m3" if you first have to remove something because it is not load-bearing?
