What paint did you use? Is this painted plaster? The result is actually quite okay, especially as you say, for a technical room.

Do it right and somewhat “nice” from the start. Later, after moving in and when everything is filled, it’s usually too late…. Here I recommend the brush/roll plaster, which some even recommend for living spaces. For the utility cellar, the stuff is good enough. Vestibule (stairs), cellar room, and boiler room completely filled and covered with roll plaster. Garage, which is in the cellar, partially (one wall/ceiling) even plastered due to insulation (outside the thermal envelope).

To have the least effort and still achieve the best possible result, it certainly makes sense to proceed in the following order:

1. Treat larger holes in the concrete with repair filler
2. Sand the entire concrete wall
3. Prime the concrete wall
4. Paint with thick roll plaster

To keep this under "low effort," you need a floor sander + a vacuum. Otherwise, it will get ugly.

I know what I'm talking about, I did everything (=joints) with the angle grinder ;)

A few months ago, I got a sanding giraffe with a vacuum on eBay Classifieds; I think I could work on it quite well with that.

You don’t have to drag it around so wildly, just lightly over, done.

(it’s not supposed to be Q4…)
