Usually, when stopping with a dishwasher, one takes a side panel from the tall cabinet or a countertop as a support panel for the finish.
I would definitely close the 5 cm gap to the wall; otherwise, it becomes an ugly dirty corner with no possibility to clean it.
The countertop only lies loosely on the dishwasher and can move, so there may be problems with the finish to the rear wall.
Suggestion: drill a batten onto the wall so that the countertop rests vibration-free and also a strip at the front vertically where the fitting piece to the wall is glued with silicone.
Please ensure that the dishwasher can be removed and inserted smoothly even with the fitting piece, in case it needs to be replaced due to age or a technician needs access.
