Hello,
has anyone here installed Fastbo wall panels above the kitchen counter and could share how to best/most inconspicuously attach them to the wall?
For example: special type/size of screws,
are 4 screws per panel enough,
can you manage to make the "gaps"/transitions between individual panels less visible,
can they be nicely cut for a corner piece without breaking badly?

Thanks for your experiences,
best regards, Elli

Hello Elli,

I was at Ikea last week and saw the Fastbo wall panels there for the first time. In the furniture store, they were attached at the top edge with a silver rail. I don’t remember what the strip was called, but it could have been Asker or Imperativ, one of those kitchen hanging rails. The rail created a nice looking clean finish at the top of the panels, and you couldn’t see any holes in the panels.

I’m also considering whether to buy the wall panels, but I don’t like that they only come in 60 cm lengths. In the furniture store, the transition between the panels didn’t look so bad because they fit together very precisely, but I don’t find it ideal. Also, I would need a cutout for an existing socket, and that’s getting too complicated for me again.

Best regards
Stina

By now I know that the metal rail is also called Fastbo, just like the wall panels, and was created specifically for attaching the panels. The rail is 120 cm long, and accordingly, two panels fit into it.

The correct trim is from Fastbo, costs around €10, and is 120 cm long (panels 60x50 cm, so enough for 2 pieces), is attached at the top and bottom, and the panels are slid in. Of course, if you have a tile backsplash, you can also attach the panels using double-sided tape.

Hello!

Can someone tell me what the panels look like from the side?
Is there a gap between the wall and the panels when using the rails?

We want to install the panels behind our stove, with the passage to the living room on the left side of the stove, where the panels can be seen from the side. That means they also have to look good from the side.
