I installed a facade made of fired slips in self-assembly. After a short time, there were white discolorations in places, mostly on the weather-exposed side. What is this and how can I change it :-?

Hello,

what you refer to as white discolorations are probably so-called "efflorescences," which mainly occur on clinker bricks. As far as I know, both the clinker brick itself (depending on the type of clinker brick) and the joint (i.e., the mortar) can effloresce because certain minerals can be washed out, which then crystallize on the surface and form this white stuff. It is said to be especially bad with ready-mixed mortar, which can be built in for several days, as it contains so-called retarders that promote this efflorescence.

You can easily remove these crystallized minerals with diluted hydrochloric acid. Please observe the safety precautions when handling acids (eye protection, hand protection, etc.). Don't forget to rinse with water afterwards.

Hello
an old well-known problem
as already said: wash
but then do not forget: hydrophobize: so that efflorescence does not reappear after a certain time.
The hydrophobizing prevents water from penetrating into the clinker or the joint.
It is mostly sprayed on, is diffusion-open and dries without a visible film.

I am interested in how you "mounted" these straps? How attached? How grouted?

The strips were glued onto doweled styrofoam with a milled joint, the adhesive was fully applied with a spatula, I grouted with quartz sand and cement in a ratio of 1:3

What does the tile supplier say about the white spots? Has the adhesive been recommended by the tile manufacturer for the construction setup?
