Hello everyone,

unfortunately, I cannot find enough information and am hoping for your help.
Our problem was two electric blinds (1 1/2 years old) (bedroom and children's room). In the frost, they could no longer move or got stuck halfway and did not move further.
The window manufacturer's technicians came several weeks later and repaired them; partly the blind holders were torn out because the motor apparently pulled too hard.
The technicians adjusted everything a bit more loosely.
Now the window manufacturer says that this is not a warranty case because the blinds should not be operated in frost. This is also supposed to be stated in the blinds' user manual, which we did not receive.

What do you think, was it our fault because we used the blinds anyway? Somehow our child has to nap at midday, and we have no blackout inside.
Thank you for your feedback and your experiences.

Normally, "better" engines have antifreeze integrated. But it is beyond my knowledge what has been installed in your case.

Unfortunately, I only know the manufacturer: "Selve". Apparently, they did not have any antifreeze.

I have blinds that can handle that. They have overload protection.

But I have also retrofitted a blind, and exactly what you described is stated in the operating instructions.

The installer also pointed this out to me again.

If you haven’t received any instructions or nothing about it was described in the terms and conditions and no briefing was given, I would refuse to pay.

For the future, it should be clear: Do not move frozen roller blinds/raffstores!

Selve SE has overload protection. What kind of roller shutter drive was installed for you?
