Hello everyone,

has anyone here by any chance had a soil survey done through Geologen-finden.de and can share their experience?

We have received an offer of nearly €850 and have also received offers from other geologists ranging between €1,500 and €3,000.

As far as I could tell, the services hardly differ, but the price makes us a bit suspicious or uncertain.

Many thanks in advance.

Yes, we did. It went smoothly, the appointment was kept, and the price as well. Including the lab, we paid around €1000. Local providers would have charged more than double. I would definitely recommend it and do it again.

That sounds familiar to me. If I'm not mistaken, it's just a portal where geologists can register to be found. Sort of like instead of the Yellow Pages. So independent. They are harder to find in the Yellow Pages, but the same ones.

Yes, exactly, we will be assigned a graduate geologist from nearby who can also carry out the soil survey very promptly. We have now placed the order, I will report on the results. Many thanks for your feedback.

The report was paid for by the municipality (the land came from the municipality). Price: 850 euros. Drilling was done at 3 locations, at 2 they allegedly could not proceed. They suspected rocky grounds. The report recommended further drilling and excavations, preparing additional reports. Price around 2000 €. Our experienced civil engineering contractor said it was a joke, we could save the costs. If we encounter rock, it would be soft limestone. His machines would easily handle that. That’s exactly how it was. At the 2 locations where they could not proceed – there was nothing, absolutely nothing. Possibly a small stone – 10 cm away was only soil again,,,,, We really felt fooled.

It was exactly the same with us! According to the expert, an offshoot of the Himalayas was under our property. The excavator driver just scooped the stuff out like that.

I really don’t understand why used vehicle dealers have such a bad reputation...
