Experiences with electric fireplace?

The electric fireplace would therefore be purely a visual thing; the heating performance is not the main focus. However, a mere screen flame effect would be too little for me.

The "flame effect" does not exist with the electric fireplace. In the end, these are just light effects.

Go to a specialty store and take a look at them. And for comparison, "real" fireplaces that burn something. I recommend an ethanol fireplace for that. You can also hang it on the wall, but it has a real fire.
