Hello,

does anyone of you have an electric fireplace at home and can report about it? Which brand or product do you have?

Do you have one with water vapor? If yes, with a water tank or water line connection? How is it regarding scaling?

Thank you very much, I look forward to your reports!

Electric and fireplace go together like sawdust and ice cream. Therefore, of course, not at home. Experience only from hotel visits. You can also hang a TV with a fireplace video. Then at least you have the crackling of wood and flames. If anything, then ethanol, to at least have a real fire.

I myself am a fan of open fireplace fires and would actually prefer a flame image and sound on the screen to an electric fireplace, as I could also use the screen for other purposes.

I don't have an electric fireplace at home. Whether it's right for you depends on your objective. If you simply like the look: choose one and use it as a decorative element. The illumination of the water vapor does create a certain dynamic, but in my opinion it does not contribute to a more realistic flame impression. What confuses me about models with heating power is that the heat generated has nothing to do with the radiant heat of a fire. In addition, the efficiency in modern houses with central heating systems is at least questionable. Friends of ours love their electric fireplace and have been running it for several years without problems.

First of all, thank you for your experience reports (maybe there will still be "users" who can report). The background of the question is that I currently have a tiled stove that we do not use. And purely for reasons of convenience. The electric fireplace would therefore be purely an optical thing; heating performance is not the focus. A purely screen-based flame effect would, however, be too little for me.
