[I want to use calcium silicate boards for internal wall insulation because I can get them very cheaply from a colleague. However, I would like to find out a bit about the boards beforehand. Are they any good? What experiences have you had?]

Calcium silicate boards are well suited for interior insulation because they behave moisture-adaptively, i.e. they can absorb and release moisture (e.g. condensate from the wall) without being damaged.

However, you should definitely inform yourself about the processing of the boards on the manufacturer’s homepage.

I have used calcium silicate boards for insulation myself. They were recommended to me at the time by my [GU]. I didn't really question it back then, but after 10 years I can tell you that I have nothing negative to report about the material.

I also know these plates and we too have not had any bad experiences so far. It is important that they can absorb and release the water.

I have also had no negative experiences with the calcium silicate boards. Due to the high pH value, no mold formation can occur. We equipped an old half-timbered house with them because exterior insulation was not an option here.

Hello, I think these panels are brilliant and they are currently effective against mold. If mold occurs, cover all surfaces with these panels. Otherwise, the mold will appear at the joints. Of course, the cause of the mold must be eliminated beforehand, otherwise it is of little use.

They are not very expensive and I got these panels 25 mm thick for about 20 CHF.
