Hello dear forum members,

I am currently renovating my terrace and now the question arises as to which new covering I should/want to lay.

My choice has fallen on aluminum decking, as the advantages over WPC/BPC or wooden decking, in my opinion, outweigh the others.

No splinters.
Does not get as hot as WPC/BPC.
Does not discolor (a very important point for me, as my terrace is partially covered)
The aluminum decking is warp-free.
In addition, they are UV resistant and also not sensitive to scratches, thanks to a special powder coating.

These advantages are stated more or less the same by some suppliers.

Now to my question:

Does anyone of you perhaps have experience with aluminum decking?
Is it recommended, or should I rather lay WPC/BPC?

... except for the fact of the significantly higher price. I also imagine processing to be more difficult; cutting aluminum is different from cutting wood.

However, I have never seen such planks before. Personally, I prefer wood – solid, natural, and simply "nicer" in appearance and feel for me.

Yes, you are right, the price is higher than for wooden floorboards. That is certainly a disadvantage.

Aluminum expands considerably when heated. Although more uniformly than wood. We discussed this topic with the facade builder a few days ago... Everything is CNC milled and the mounting holes are larger so that the material can move. Then rivets/screws with a larger head are used to cover the hole. Can you name some suppliers? Sounds interesting. I have never seen this as decking.

How does something like that feel underfoot? What about reflections? Isn't that too foreign a material for the garden? You actually want to sit outside in something like "nature"... ops:

Available in almost every RAL color and various decors.
It will probably be very expensive. I would rather have concerns about point load and slip resistance.
Please be sure to show pictures if you decide to go for it.
