Hello. In a month we will start building a new single-family house. Other houses in the development area are being built by the same general contractor. We were recently in the development area where others have already started building. I was a bit confused when I wanted to talk to two construction workers. They did not understand anything at all. Now I wonder how our site manager (GC) intends to communicate with them. What experiences have you had when the craftsmen do not have German language skills? If the construction company goes bankrupt, I also find it difficult to hold their subcontractors based in Ukraine or elsewhere accountable for defects. Or am I being overly cautious?

With us, they were all German or, if not, the screeding and plastering team spoke good German. Try it in English.
