Has anyone installed something like this? Advantage is that it can be wrapped up, presumably also able to survive winter that way.

Does anyone have prices to give me an idea before I make an inquiry? Manufacturer names are also welcome.

Above all, what experiences do you have with it? Our problem is extreme wind, so a permanently mounted sail is not an option as it probably won't withstand the wind.
The patio roof has to wait because it goes around a corner and will be expensive.

electric >€10,000. Recently visited a specialist retailer and inquired.

Sails provide comparatively little shade due to their cut shape. And the masts require space in the garden.

Simply remove the permanently installed one in winter. I don't understand the problem. They aren’t really "fixed" in place anyway, but hooked in and tensioned. Approximately 20sqm also withstood storms like Kyrill. With self-installation in the mid-2000s, about €1,500 (custom-made sailcloth. Rectangular with four different sides, two stainless steel posts embedded in concrete, and two fixings in the wall). There are plenty of sources available online. I found it much airier back then than a permanent roof.

It's not just about winter, our house stands almost at the top of the mountain and extreme wind is also a burden in summer, so bad that they put wind turbines nearby even though we live in the Black Forest. That's why I'm not sure if it will hold. Did you anchor it in the facade? We had a beam specially installed for mounting the awning, and I would like to put two anchors there. for 10,000 euros I'd rather crank it, unfortunately.

Scaffold anchor deep in the masonry. Outside, it was up to wind force 10.

Are you still satisfied with it? I haven't found any long-term experience so far, especially how the sail looks or holds up after a few years.
