Hello,

I’ll try again: does anyone have experience with the company Engelhardt & Geissbauer (EG Holzhaus or E&G Holzhaus) from Burgbernheim (district of Neustadt an der Aisch-Bad Windsheim in Middle Franconia) and can provide information on how the construction project went? I am particularly interested in whether the schedule was met, how the coordination of the trades was handled, and how accessible the company / contacts were.

Thank you very much for your information.

I'll join in here. We are also building with E&G. I would be very grateful for any information. In which region are you building?

I don’t see any thread from you about what your future house should actually be like, but you are investigating quite confusedly "in all directions" with whom you could build it. Would you like to try to untangle the knot from a different corner (e.g. with an introductory thread where you describe yourself and your project, preferably with the completed questionnaire from the head of the floor plan section and with plan sections / photos of the plot)? – Otherwise, you wouldn’t be the first to still be this far along at Christmas 2023 ...

Dear 11ant,

I actually don't see the danger as we will be making a decision in the next few weeks for several reasons. I certainly wouldn't describe it as "confused," and the phase of investigation in many directions is already behind us. We have now narrowed our search for construction companies to very few companies, and the floor plan design is almost complete. One topic for which we are still seeking information is specific testimonials from builders about the companies under consideration. That certainly wouldn't be the sole decision criterion, but still very helpful. And you simply can't plan it yourself, recognize it in brochures, or find it out through conversations with the companies. I had thought it possible that one might be able to find such experience here.

Once your floor plan design is completed, in my opinion it would be worth a try that we could assess on this basis which company can implement the project better. What you can recognize in brochures varies greatly with experience. It can well be that if you have a question, you won’t find the answer in the catalog or the construction service description, but we might. I absolutely consider it more than possible that you will receive shared experience here – but also that it will be of relatively little use to you: in three years there will be two very helpful answers here, but unfortunately you will probably want to have built long before that, I assume. Therefore, once again my invitation: show your project and name your questions, then you will surely be helped quickly. If you perhaps get criticized for having a strange taste, that you like, oh no, really such a house, you can simply turn a deaf ear – then the comment "resistant to advice" will come back (and besides, your money is supposedly not enough anyway, at least people here like to say that in financial advice posts). But with a thick skin you will get good help here.

What is supposed to be strange about the question for experience reports? We are currently building with Engelhardt Geissbauer
