Does anyone here know the Futura floor slab or the Schwedenplatte (from Floortech, I think)? These systems combine floor slab, perimeter insulation, and underfloor heating, as well as all fresh and wastewater pipes; concrete surface ready for covering... screed is therefore not necessary. Sounds good... and the promotional videos also look great. The Futura is also available as a kit. Has anyone here ever assembled it as a kit? For our house, we planned underfloor heating and (like basically everyone) the shortest possible construction time. Since everything except electricity, water, heating, and roof is done by ourselves, a kit slab is just right. Does anyone here have information (no advertising texts) about the systems? And possibly some relational figures (from the offer: 100% assigned vs. kit) to better calculate cost-benefit (ratio etc.)??? Thank you very much!

Since May 2012, we have had a Futura energy-saving floor slab on the ground floor and a "normal" underfloor heating in the upper floor, which is installed under 7 cm of screed in our new building. We have been living in the house since October 2012 and have experienced the following: If you set the room thermostats to the same temperature in all rooms and the heating is set to a room temperature of 23 °C, the rooms on the ground floor with the Futura slab warm up very slowly and do not provide the required heating output. You can set a higher temperature on the heating (e.g. from 23 °C to 25 °C), but this leads to higher energy costs because the flow temperature must be higher. I assume that this is due to the heat losses caused by the approximately 20 cm more concrete between the heating pipes and the floor surface, which must also be heated.

Another disadvantage: The Futura energy-saving floor slab heats very sluggishly. You cannot "quickly" make the bathroom warmer. On the upper floor, a temperature increase is noticeable within 30 minutes. On the ground floor (Futura) it takes about 6 hours until you feel the warmth on the floor. This disadvantage is also negative for children’s rooms because you cannot quickly lower the temperature by 1-2 °C in the evening before going to sleep.

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend a Futura floor slab.

Dear Hauke,

Thank you very much for your opinion. I am sorry that you are not satisfied with the heating performance of the FUTURA EnergieSpar floor slab. Unfortunately, we did not discover your post in this forum earlier. Since we cannot find your name in our records, I would be pleased if you could contact Ms. Dipl.-Ing. Carolin Schneider (Quality Assurance) at our company. You can find the contact details on our homepage. I am confident that we can assist you in resolving your issues as quickly as possible, as our commitment is always to the highest possible quality.

Kind regards
