Hello!

I am new here and have a quick construction question:

We are starting to build our single-family house in October. The house has a 50 cm brick wall and no controlled residential ventilation. We have now had a free energy consultation, and the lady said that the back wall (north) and side wall (west) of the living room (where the couch is supposed to be) are very poor in terms of energy performance and will always mold. She said that the door to the office should be moved from the right side to the left side, and the couch then also to the right side, and then everything will be fine.

Is there an "expert" here who also knows about this topic? Redesigning now just based on one opinion is a bit too little for me.

Many thanks in advance
Best regards Philipp

Is that meant seriously? At the beginning, you shouldn't place the couch directly against the wall, but otherwise I don't understand the statement. However, I would question the size of the living room again (although that is difficult without knowing the rest of the house).

Hello! The size of the living room is fine for us. Cooking and eating have 33 m2. The energy healer said that there is a water vein underneath which will cause the mold. And we should not feel comfortable, as the wall would always radiate cold. Regards

Is everyone allowed to call themselves an energy consultant nowadays?! I'm going crazy... From a building physics perspective, their statement is simply wrong. Well, then I won't question the living room (although it would be too small for me)

Unfortunately, I cannot answer your question today because my laptop is currently next to a Senfader and I do not want to rearrange anymore today.

What exactly was the qualification of the Energetikerin?

That sounds more like an esoteric dowser - as if water veins. The question about the qualification is really interesting.
