Hello dear forum members,

unfortunately, more than 10 inquiries with local electricians have brought no success. It is about applying for the house connection + construction power (including rental and installation). I have received 2 offers but no feedback afterwards. Therefore, I have now filled out the application myself. I need help with the technical data, maybe someone here is familiar with it. A single-family house is being built on an old property, but without an existing connection on the property, so no connection box or similar, the overhead line goes into the ground 1m from the property boundary at the neighbor's. The single-family house has 160 sqm, an air-to-water heat pump with 8 kW, no basement, and is a KfW55 house. From our building advisor, I received an application for another single-family house to adopt the data, but only for construction power and house connection. I tried to fill out the heat pump myself in the table. Is that okay so far? Would you install a separate meter for the heat pump? I would run it through the normal meter. Photovoltaics will only be prepared, but the panels will not be installed on the roof for another 2-3 years, hopefully when prices become bearable again.

Hello, basically every provider has a service center. However, regarding your question about separate meters for the heat pump. Definitely! There are subsidized tariffs for electricity with heat pumps. We even have an HT / NT meter. I don't know if it is mandatory.

Yes, I had already read about the special tariffs, but the heat pump can then be switched off by the supplier at any time, which is why it is cheaper. However, with photovoltaics, it apparently doesn’t pay off, since during the day the heat pump runs on the photovoltaics. The second meter also costs a basic fee/charge. It’s just a question of whether it’s worth it if you might only save €50 a year and the supplier could switch off at any time. The future situation is still somewhat uncertain. I don’t really expect any help from the service center. They will probably give generic answers like "ask your electrician, we don’t know the situation on site" and so on.

No one can say exactly what will happen with the second meter in the future. In general, I think your idea is right. In the coming years, our power grid will face quite a few challenges, and personally, I find it better that my system cannot simply be switched off. It is also not beneficial for the efficient and material-friendly operation of an inverter heat pump.

First, call your grid operator regarding the application; if that does not help, contact the person building your house or the one handling the construction electricity or your electrical system.

With photovoltaic and heat pump (tariff), one normally uses measurement concept 8 with two or even three meters. There is quite a bit of information about this on the internet.

The statement is (nowadays) at least controversial.
It certainly depends on the region or the provider whether they even offer corresponding tariffs! And if they do, these usually do not pay off at all!
If it goes well, considering all basic fees/charges and ultimately the quite low electricity consumption of the heat pump in new buildings, you end up at about +/- ZERO at the end of the year!
Under certain circumstances, you may also have to choose a larger fuse box, etc. for the second meter, which definitely argues against the second meter in this case.
