Oh yes, by fun for the kids, a remote control for lights was of course meant. We currently have something like that with RGB spots in the hallway! ;)

I would install a properly sized conduit. Then you can still decide later whether you want constant power and additionally control the lighting from the house with a simple light switch or have it done differently.

In addition, I would lay another empty conduit in case you want to install an alarm system or surveillance camera there.
