Do you know how I can tell without any devices how an electrical cable runs inside the wall? I need to drill about 3cm deep soon. I only see a problem at the position in the wall. Unfortunately, there is an electrical cable very close by. How can I tell where the cable runs? Is there some kind of channel that you can knock on? The cable must be laid somehow. If nothing helps: where is the best place to buy such a detector?

You unfortunately have no way to find an in-wall electrical cable without technical assistance.

Unfortunately, the moderator is right, in the past with Umgebindehäuser, you could luckily still find something like that by tapping, today with normal plasters and walls that is no longer possible.

Hello, it's a pity that you can't recognize this as well anymore, but fortunately a device that detects power cables is no longer that expensive :) I have already found useful ones for 25 to 40, so better than chiseling up the whole wall :)

You can find them in every electronics store or even at the hardware store. It really doesn’t cost a lot and can be used often. Everything else is a lottery game.

I told you, you can use them again and again, and they are not that expensive. If you save money in the wrong place here, it can also be deadly.
