Hello everyone,
I wanted to ask what experiences you have had with the cladding on roofs. By default, the verge overhang (and also the eaves overhang) is clad with wood. Our builder has now offered us to use a metal cladding at the same price. The overhang will be about 25 cm, but the roof will remain traditional with ridge tiles.
Of course, the builder would save himself the double painting of the cladding, but on the other hand, with the metal cladding we would have the advantage of less maintenance effort in the future.
How much effort is actually involved in maintaining a wooden verge overhang in practice? Painting every 3-4 years?
Has anyone had negative experiences with titanium-zinc metal cladding? Rust?
Visually, we can imagine both options; the house is designed in a modern style.
Thanks for your experiences,
Axellent
