Eaves height in the development plan - definition not clear?

Good evening everyone,
in our development plan, the following definition for the eaves height is stated:
"For the eaves height, the decisive factor is the intersection of the rising masonry and the roof structure."
What does this unusual formulation mean?

After very long research, I could only find definitions such as the intersection of rising masonry and the roof covering, or the lower or upper edge of the rafters.
For us laypeople, it therefore sounds as if the above definition is not clear and can even be interpreted differently.
Is that the case, or can someone please clarify this for us? Thank you very much in advance!

For us, the wording was also somewhat confusing at first glance. A quick consultation with the responsible building authority clarified the question in a few minutes; they should also know this in your case.

As a layperson, I would guess from the wording that it - as it stands there - is the intersection of the masonry with the roof structure. In the case of a gable roof, that would be, for me, the lower edge of the wall plate.

From personal experience: talk to the responsible building authority and ask how they interpret it. In the end, if they are like they are with us, their opinion is decisive unless you want to go to court over 30cm height.

We had the relatively clear wording "with the roof covering" but the building authority insisted that for our flat roof it is the top edge of the parapet and not the intersection with the roof covering

Yes, I agree completely. Presumably, this is what is meant: Perhaps there are indications in the reasoning for the development plan or an internally coordinated administrative interpretation.

Thank you very much for your assessments! So the formulation is indeed very unusual.
