Can it be a bit more factual? Of course, an entrepreneur must factor in price increases from suppliers. That’s how business works. Because exactly what the stair builder does is what he owes. On the other hand, it is bad practice to pass every price increase from suppliers on to the unsuspecting customer.

Was still by far cheaper than the Sub from the GU and still cheaper than three other requested stair builders. And then he was also the friendliest and possibly even the most competent – at least the one with the longest patience.

We did not renegotiate.

One or the other item is listed as "if required" under unit price.

Can it be predicted with some expertise whether the EP positions have to be executed?

The offer is not a flat rate?

My husband went through each position and discussed possible additional costs. It still seems reasonable to him. Additionally, out of more than 10 earthworks companies, only 4 responded, one of them with "no available capacity." So unfortunately, we don't really have a choice.

Of course, you can always accuse someone of something. This way of thinking is poison, because in the long run, people deny each other any goodwill, constantly feel "screwed over," and start to "cheat" themselves.
