Earthbag construction in Germany / Austria: Possible?

I keep reading about the so-called "earthbag construction". In principle, rice bags are filled with earth and then used to build with. The construction method seems to basically work, but I wonder if such a construction method is even remotely legal in Germany or Austria?

Does anyone have information on the subject regarding Germany / Austria? Has anyone ever seen such a house in this country?

Somehow I can't imagine that something like that would be approved.

In Nepal and Pakistan, emergency shelters are built in this way.

Yes, I know it from there too. But what would speak against using earthbags in construction? That might also work in combination with [ein Fachwerk]?

Just ask a bank if they will finance the project. I think something like that would only work with full financing from equity and a lenient building authority. Nice idea!

I think the construction method using PET bottles filled with earth is much cooler!

As with any building material, experience is needed to work with it. And that will be difficult to find here. I also think it will be hard to find a structural engineer. Basically a nice idea, but I also see no advantage over bricks.
