Hello,

I wanted to ask how long it usually takes with you or in general from the notary appointment to the handover of the keys?

I’m expecting about 3-4 weeks. Is that realistic?

You mean transfer of ownership in a used house purchase? Quickly would be 1 month. The notary needs, besides a clean land register, a waiver of pre-emption from the city, and the deed of conveyance. Then he says yes, now pay. If you then pay promptly, and the payment is also promptly confirmed in writing by the recipient, which you must do, then possession goes to you and you are entitled to the keys. However, as long as no money is received, I as the seller would not hand anything over.

One year at Neubau!
In the case of a used purchase, the key handover is fixed in the contract!

Best regards

I know it to be more like about 6 weeks, one month would be quite fast. The waiver of the right of first refusal by the city and the registration of the conveyance by the land registry office can take some time.

: there are also formulations in the notarial contract with handover within one working day/a week after receipt of payment, where a specific date is not necessarily required. Without money, a seller will hardly agree to a handover.

Exactly. And that's why no one here can answer the question, because none of us know the wording of the contract. Best regards in short
