Hello forum,

I have a clogged drain that I cannot clear myself. It is a type of drain that I am not familiar with. I was not able to remove the "plug" in the middle. Is it theoretically possible to remove it, and if so, how?

I still tried to pump it a bit and that did not help.

Can someone give me a tip on how I can clean this drain?

To me, this looks like an extra flat drain with a [Geruchsverschluss]. If that is the case, the cap in the middle must be removable. Whether it is screwed, clicked, or plugged, I cannot say. As a home remedy for clearing drain blockages, baking powder or baking soda combined with vinegar has proven effective. It fizzes vigorously and dissolves quite a lot. Rinse with water and neutralize.

I have already done the baking soda-vinegar treatment. Now I have to see how I can loosen the odor trap. It is quite possible that it is an extra-flat drain. It is the shower of a wet cell. Such a cell where walls and shower tray are made of one piece of plastic.

My tip for something like this is to let 1l of fresh cola (from a sealed bottle) sit for several hours. Then rinse with hot water.

I pour a few liters of boiling water with a lot of dishwasher powder dissolved in it into such drains ... and then of course let it take effect.

Maybe you could also come in with a very small mini bottle brush (I can’t think of the right word), these are flexible and bendable and you could maybe loosen hair etc. with them.
