Hello,

unfortunately, due to space constraints, the shower (level access) is located directly next to the frame & door leaf in the bathroom. After 1.5 years, the edge at the bottom of the door leaf is coming off. The frame is also "swollen" at the corner. How could one proceed with the door? Mount a small metal/aluminum strip?

Water finds its way; sometimes water splashes a little over the tiles.

Thank you

The configuration with the door directly next to the shower is of course not very ideal.

Apparently, only the part of the frame that was not protected from water by the silicone seal has swollen. A thin "seal" with silicone might help there.

It is more difficult with the door leaf. Perhaps there is an impregnation or something similar for that?

But I am just an amateur.

Maybe or can help you more professionally.

You should try to glue the loose edges again with waterproof glue. Then I would have the tinsmith make sheet metal about 5-6 cm high for the casing and a "Wangenschuh" for the door, in which the door is protected all around at the bottom. Glue the fitted sheets and seal them with silicone at the bottom. That looks neat.

A "Wangenschuh" means something like this:

The silicone should have gone all around. And for both doors, a painted one probably would have worked better than a laminated one. Now in hindsight, it's difficult.

I would confront the manufacturer directly with this, maybe they have a solution. Otherwise, plane down the bottom of the door and widen the gap for the water. Coat the door panel with paint or a resin.
