if the door has a block frame, it is advantageous to install it, or at least the frame, beforehand. This way, you or whoever is working can run your reveal right up to the frame and create a clean finish for the door. This prevents thermal bridges and leaks. Any later plastering by the plasterer will always be visible because the top coat plaster is always applied in one piece, and patch plastering always produces a different result.
With the base plaster, it's not as critical; you can still install the door afterward and then plaster.
