Hello,

maybe someone has already done this.

I would like to replace the normal door latch with one that has a small lever that can be set to open/closed. To still be able to open the front door without a key by simply pushing. I think you know what I mean. It should not be anything electrical, just the use of the lever.

Is this always possible... what should be considered?
I have a front door from Kebotherm and a continuous locking strip.

Maybe someone can say something about it.

Thanks! :)

That should be retrofittable. A joiner should be able to sell or install that for you.

Thank you. I did email the manufacturer once, but it could certainly take a while before a response comes... What is a [Bautischler]? Or rather, what does he do differently from a "normal" carpenter?

Well, a construction joiner earns his money on the construction site, with windows, doors, stairs, and so on. A cabinetmaker, on the other hand, builds kitchen furniture, built-in cupboards, and much more. A carpenter, on the other hand, is responsible for roof trusses and the like, as well as drywall partitions.

What you are looking for is called a day latch and every locksmith has something like that in their range. Or rather, nowadays you can get everything like that anywhere else as well.

Yes, exactly that. But there are surely differences in height and width or depth, or is there only one version?

I would then have to unscrew the continuous locking strip and then it could probably be replaced.
