Does anyone know what kind of tree this is / how I can get cuttings from it?

We have this beautiful tree in the front yard of the old apartment building. Now that we are building, we would like to take a few cuttings from this tree and bring them to the new house because we find the blossoms so beautiful. Does anyone know what kind of tree this is? And if I cut off some small branches, is there a chance to plant them? Should I put them in water until they take root? And how / where is the best place to cut? I am an absolute beginner and when I search for instructions on Google, there are always tons of terms I don't understand. For example: "Tear off 10 to 15 centimeter long, semi-ripe shoot pieces" -> I neither know what a shoot piece is nor how to recognize if it is "semi-ripe."

Looks like hawthorn from a distance. How large are the flowers?

Thanks, that could be right, I googled hawthorn and it fits well. The flowers grow in clusters like that, and a single flower is not very large, maybe at most 1 cm.

About 20 Euros at Pflanzmich. I think you'll get there faster than by cutting down. We also have 3. But they only bloom after a certain age. Ours are now 5 years old and are blooming for the first time.

Hello kati

go to a tree nursery with the picture (or a pruned branch with blossom and leaves).
Ask if they can graft the tree onto a rootstock for you. The "rootstock" is simply a young tree whose branches have been cut off. Onto this, the 4-5 scions (branches from your desired tree) should be grafted. Costs start at around 50 euros. The method you inquired about using a cutting can work, but it does not have to.

Thank you. Maybe I'll just buy some, seems to be the quicker solution. I've now put a few thinner twigs in the water (no idea if I did it right), thought it can't hurt.
