Hello, we are currently looking for a cost-effective way to do our driveway, which is about 30m plus courtyard (total 300sqm). Paving would be too expensive, as we would have to have it done. Wanted to check if anyone has experience with Elastopave or a stone carpet and can give rough prices per sqm? Thanks in advance for your answers.

You have chosen a cost-effective option with the stone carpet. For the 300 sqm, I would estimate a total (extensive ground preparation is necessary) of €30,000 to €50,000. On the internet, you will also find similar prices, between €50 and €100 per sqm plus ground work.

Yes, Elastopave was just the first one found. We have not committed to this brand.

Is more expensive than asphalt and paving. I once saw a comparison in a road construction magazine. The earthworks, soil preparation are at least as elaborate as with paving, rather more. The subsoil must be able to absorb water. The stone carpet with stones, primer, binder is more expensive than paving, grit and sand.

Ok, the more I research, the more I come to this conclusion myself. Thanks for the answer. Then I guess we will stick with gravel after all.

I would also stay if the money was there. Or the time to do it. Ours is also just gravelled and will remain so for another year.
