Do you have experience in preparing a wooden pool area?

Hello,

we are planning to set up a pool in the garden for the summer months May-September. Since we want to finish the garden next year, I am already planning a corresponding area. It will be a 3m x 1m pool with approx. 6600L. So accordingly, also 6.6 tons on the 3m diameter. To make it look a bit cozier, I would like to build a wooden terrace for it. Of course, gravel underneath and possibly some concreting. Would wooden decking boards hold this weight? Would you prepare the ground differently, do you have any experience with that?

Thank you very much!

You want to put a wooden terrace UNDER the pool? To make it cozier for the pool? A pool always needs a smooth surface to stand on. Even the cheapest above-ground pool. Your idea is nonsense and will not work. Make a nice terrace around the pool. Then it will be cozier for the users.

Concrete slab, leveling compound, and thick fleece. You can then build a wooden deck around the outside. And sell the filter and pump from the ready-made sets (Steinbach, Bestway, etc.) right away. Buy something properly sized, let the pump run long enough, change sufficient water if you disinfect with multitabs (problem CYA), and don't even think about filter balls…

As for the peripherals, I have already informed myself and bought an Aquaplus 4 with a 300 sand filter. Also a decent skimmer. Still need something for cleaning the bottom and the chemicals. That should be enough for now. Regarding the ground, the pool is only supposed to be there for a few months. How about a terrace with wood-look tiles? They should be able to handle the weight.

If you properly glue the panels on a concrete foundation, yes. But you need even thicker fleece because everything pushes through.
