The ceiling in the EGF should be made of precast reinforced concrete parts. Since this leaves a groove, it would need to be filled with putty. The builder said I should better leave that to a professional. Is it really that difficult to fill this groove? Although I work in an office professionally, I have done putty work before, albeit on drywall, but it shouldn't be that much different, right?

Hello Cmajere!! I would say that if you have already filled gypsum boards once, dealing with the concrete ceiling (joints) will not be so difficult either. The only thing you should pay attention to is that the material you use for filling should be elastic because of the movement.
I also want to ask how the underside of the concrete ceiling looks, will it be filled as well or [Rigips, wood, etc.]?
If you really decide to do it yourself, I would be happy to give you a few more tips, there are still a few…
Best regards.

Hello,

I think the subpage will be concrete gray with porous air holes. I will probably either use thick paint to cover the holes (hope that works) or textured paint, or you have a secret tip for me on how to get rid of these holes.

Hi!! Well, the thing with the holes is a bit tricky because where do you start and where do you stop *gg* Of course you can cover it with paint, but then it can happen that you have to coat it more often and that can take time. For me, there are basically only two solutions: either skim coat the entire ceiling or install drywall panels. With skim coating, well, you'll definitely need a professional for that, it has to be learned. The advantage of drywall is that you can hide certain things, for example electrical cables (you also don't need to chisel too much), ceiling lighting such as LED spots or regular ones, etc. Unfortunately, I have to say I don't know how it's specified with you and how much you do yourself. Best regards.

Hello everyone,

so Cmajere, if you have already successfully puttied drywall sheets, then you will also be able to putty the ceilings. It’s not that difficult. It’s just overhead. Remove concrete noses beforehand. You have to putty the joint 1 to 2 times in in the joint, but (important) not next to the joints, otherwise you will get bulges. To smooth it out, you need a very wide putty knife.

You will not be able to cover somewhat larger pores and some shrinkage cracks with paint. So completely putty or wallpaper.

If spotlights are planned in the ceiling, usually recesses are left in the precast parts at the appropriate places, from which the electrician then lets the necessary cables hang out. The electrical cables are laid on the precast parts and then disappear in the cast-in-place concrete poured on top.

If these are, as I assume, [Filigrandecken], you can save yourself the full-surface filling when applying wallpaper, provided that the ceiling surface is even and smooth.
