I think it really depends heavily on the manufacturer and the wall and ceiling structure.

The ventilation and exhaust come to mind quickly. If installed incorrectly, you can play "tin can telephone" without the string and can.

Clearly, a incorrectly installed controlled residential ventilation can also be used as a "house telephone".

Our ventilation pipes start individually for each room in the technical room in the basement. Therefore, only the quiet rustling of air can be heard from the ventilation pipes in our case.
