Good morning,

I haven’t found anything suitable about this, so I’m opening a new topic.

We have the opportunity to get a prefab house – for free.
It was built in the mid-80s by the company Schwörerhaus.
An undeveloped plot of land would already be available on our side.

The only condition is that we take care of dismantling and transporting the house ourselves.
Although I am not unskilled in craftsmanship, I can’t dismantle and rebuild whole houses, so I wanted to ask if anyone has a rough idea how this could be done and approximately what it might cost. Of course, no one can give a fixed price, as there are many dependencies, that’s clear to me. It’s just about the rough idea – is it more like 10,000 euros, more like 50,000...? I have absolutely no idea.

The house has about 200m2 of living space on 3 floors (ground floor, upper floor, and attic), a conservatory, and a small garage.
It would need to be dismantled, transported to us (about 150 to 200 km), and then of course rebuilt turnkey. Since the house was inhabited until recently, it is understood that it is already fully finished, heating, pipes, electricity, everything already present.

Where is the best place to get offers for something like this? Directly from the provider (i.e., Schwörerhaus)?
Anyone have a vague guess what something like this might cost altogether? A rough benchmark?

Thanks!

The best option. At the very least, they will be able to give you a recommendation, as they frequently replace their show homes; they have capable partners. I would estimate the costs comfortably in the high five-figure range + the cost of a slab foundation, after all, everything must also be dismantled. I am not even sure if it is possible at all. Rhenish greetings

Or ask the providers in [Musterhausparks] whether and how something like that can work. It doesn't necessarily have to be Schwörerhaus. I've also heard that the show houses are dismantled and sold after a certain period.

A high five-figure amount sounds a bit much to me. I was rather expecting a mid five-figure amount. The tip about the [Musterhauspark] sounds good, I will drive by there sometime this week. Thanks!

It will probably depend on how much needs to be dismantled. Removing the roof covering, taking down the roof structure. Opening walls, partially removing installations (electricity, plumbing, heating) in order to remove individual walls. Then there is the question of how to handle the screed. Whether it can stay inside, be transported somehow in one piece, or if it must be removed and then relaid. It's probably not an American mobile home that you load onto a trailer and drive away. All just personal opinion or speculation.

From the gut, I would estimate that you will spend at least 200k € (probably more) on the whole thing. Founding, base slab, connection costs, removing and re-roofing the roof, dismantling piping and wiring, dismantling fixtures including sanitary and kitchen, medical costs, transport costs, screed may need to be redone, tiles will break, removing and relaying floor coverings, insurances....
