Hello everyone,
we currently have a double washbasin in the bathroom with two separate hot/cold water connections.
We now want to switch to a washbasin with one faucet.

To avoid a dead-end pipe, the redundant pipe should be completely removed. However, this would require opening the wall.

Are there other options, for example, connecting both hot water connections and then using one pipe to the faucet? The same with the cold water pipes.

Are you sure that the connections do not branch off only under the washbasin?

I have two separate angle valves for hot water and two for cold water. I'm currently on my way to work. I can attach a photo this evening.

As long as they share a pipe (which I assume), nothing would happen regarding a dead pipe? Instead of a stop valve, you could simply put a cap on 1x cold and 1x hot and that’s it.

If you close only one hot water valve and one cold water valve ... then that could be a Legionella problem. A 10 cm long dead pipe is not recommended
