Hello!

I wanted to ask how you feel about it. My thought is to do without [Kabel] and [Telekom] connection. That's at least €1000 for both together!? Or am I mistaken...

I'm considering this because LTE etc. works very well for us and the future will further develop these technologies.

What do you think? Is having [Kabel]- and [Telekom] connection a must???

Relying entirely on wireless is, in my opinion, bold. I would at least have the telephone installed in the house. This way you keep your freedom of choice open. The providers are decidedly better for telephone than for LTE.

That depends on the circumstances. For me, "am A.. der Welt" it is quite simple. There are no cables and Telekom offers me ultra-fast DSL with 1024 kb, which usually only reaches 512 kb. No joke! 50 MB until 2018 - I'm blown away. 5 would already be paradise. So I have to resort to a local radio solution due to my job. 6MB, but for really expensive money. So I don't need any cable or Telekom.

I will have a telephone connection installed. It costs a flat rate of 400 EUR if the so-called cable termination point (APL) is inside the house. It even costs 0 (zero) EUR if you have the APL screwed on the outside of your house wall. You have to take care of the empty conduit at a depth of 60 cm yourself.

Kabel Dtl. charges a flat rate of 1000 EUR. Here too, you have to take care of the empty conduit yourself. I find that an extremely outrageous price just for pulling cables through the empty conduit, screwing the connection socket to the wall, and briefly testing it. That's why I didn't choose Kabel Dtl.

LTE is a "shared medium," meaning all users of a radio cell share the available frequencies. It may still be fast now, but in 1 to 2 years or already nowadays in the evening hours, LTE will become slow because many users are crowded in a shared radio cell.

Of course, all technologies continue to develop, but 400 EUR for a telephone connection should be feasible.

Funny what prices you have ... we had both installed, cable and telephone, even though we don't need a telephone. When the street is open anyway ... you never know (resale) ... I seem to remember that we paid about 350 for telephone and exactly 199 for cable (Kabel Dt. is the local provider here).

: Kabel Dtl. used to be cheap. Until 2 or 3 years ago, there was a tiered price list that billed different scopes of work at different rates. At that time, according to my research, laying a cable in the open trench or in the conduit cost about 200 EUR. Meanwhile, the tiering no longer exists and it costs a flat rate of 1000 EUR. I argued with Kabel Dtl. for a long time. They do not budge.
