Hello,

I am a bit unsure about our outdoor area, specifically the corner of the house on the south side. Here, the terrace (height ground floor) meets the lawn area (height basement). So, a height difference of one story needs to be overcome.
Originally, the planner intended to build natural stones on the lower side facing the house, which then slope away from the house. Next to it, there is a slope. I lack a bit of imagination. If the basement level is to be as large as possible, the slope will also be very large and still steep. I don't have an idea on how to design this slope in a way that does not require too much work.
To walk on foot from the terrace to the area in front of the basement rooms, according to this plan, you would have to walk all the way along the property boundary, quite a long way, which I also don’t find ideal.
Attached are some pictures of the situation.
How wide would you make the terrace? Would you also use only natural stones by the house, and the rest slope? That is probably the cheapest? What do you "do" with the slope? How steep would you make the slope to keep the level lawn area as large as possible?
Are there any other ideas?

Terrace as drawn.

Slopes preferably not steeper than 1:2; if steeper, they must be secured somehow. Possibly with a rock garden that is well planted.

On top of the slope large planting troughs for fall protection.

The SM and the planting troughs are set off from the slope and allowed to taper out.

It is not easy to see this clearly on the plans. How often and for what purpose is the connection between the terrace and the lower part of the building used? A slope solution with a short path down also seems difficult to design to me, as this design measure is supposed to be given only a little space. If the path absolutely must be short, build a staircase. Otherwise, work with the slope and retain what can be retained with natural stone walls.

Good morning, thank you for the feedback, that almost matches the information from the planner. I will follow up on the issue with the [Pflanztrog], I think the idea is good. I think we will get used to the "long" path, I also can't find any everyday application where you have to take the path.

A staircase can also be integrated into the embankment.

At the exit of the kitchen side, we have a small stone terrace that leads to the wooden terrace partly surrounding the house, but also down into a garden area. Here we found a very simple solution and used larger greywacke stones as steps. Maybe this can be an inspiration for you, although our terrain is significantly steeper (at this spot 27% or just over 50%). The pictures are not Instagram-neat and you can also see that everything is currently a bit overgrown. We like it that way, although some pruning will probably be done after the recent rainy days. The short-haired collies have a shoulder height of 60cm and serve as a scale here. For those wondering about the wooden railing in the background of the pictures - at the kitchen terrace we have a natural stone wall and above that is a small terrace with a beach chair, where we occasionally retreat. You can never have enough terraces.
