Hello everyone,

I had a similar inquiry about two years ago. We have now been living in the house for over two years and are considering how we could beautify the path between the house and the garage as well as the stairs there. Ideally, of course, for little money.
At the moment, I can't really think of much. Of course, everything will be cleaned nicely with the pressure washer in the spring, but it doesn't really make it look nice.
Maybe someone here has a few good ideas.
In picture 1, I had the idea of possibly covering the wall with facing bricks and putting capstones on top of the wall. I have already used facing bricks on an exterior wall elsewhere and I like how it looks.
But what can you do with the stairs, for example? I don't think painting looks good. Somehow cladding them? Tiles would certainly be possible, but would that last in the long run?
As I said, these are just some visual things. I can live with the current state, but it would be nice to spruce it up a bit. Thanks,

For the not so pretty wall, I could imagine larch floor/cover boarding. Above that, a copper parapet cover (available online or from the sheet metal worker / roofer). The stairs themselves maybe with stone carpet? You can do it yourself and the costs are manageable given the area.

The wall could also be clad with bricks. However, I would mainly work with plants and just let them hang down. At the moment, it looks very bare.

I had also thought about a stone carpet. There are many different variants. I'll take a closer look. Thanks.

I had also thought about slips or such wall claddings. The costs are manageable for the area as well. In summer there are flower boxes on the wall and behind them tomatoes, strawberries, etc.
It is really bare at the moment but that will change in spring.

I think a coat of paint would already make a big difference visually. I simulated it with PS once… before… after… Plants make it really beautiful :)

Hm, that really doesn't look bad at all. Maybe the shade could be a bit lighter, but it already makes a clear difference. Thanks
