Hello everyone,

after a renovation we have a room with a bare concrete ceiling, on which I would like to at least install a ceiling light. Chasing the concrete ceiling is out of the question, thick plastering for a chase seems too elaborate. Classic suspending with drywall would be possible, but also elaborate for just one lamp. I have concerns about mold with Styrofoam/Styrodur, the room has two exterior walls, and there is living space above. Besides wooden panels, is there another approach I am overlooking, apart from a cable duct?

Thanks and regards, Tim

Electricity from the room above through the ceiling downwards.

I would simply use a very thin cable duct.

Look for pictures from old Italian houses. There are manufacturers of switches and cables. Beautiful cables are braided from the three textile-sheathed conductors. Porcelain holders screwed into the wall/ceiling ensure stability. Motto: If you lay it visibly, make a feature out of it.
