Hello, it used to be that the darker bricks were more expensive. Is that still the case and is there some kind of standard color? I mean by dark bricks no specific color, I just don't want bricks with the normal brick red.

Hello, As far as I know, no. However, the price depends not only on the color but also on the building physics properties. If you consider these as constant, special and trend colors are usually more expensive! Since it is probably about exposed masonry or a facing facade, also think about summer heat protection when choosing the color! Dark colors have a high absorption factor! The same applies to roof surfaces, by the way. Best regards NB: not everything that looks visually appealing is really sensible or economical.

From your text, it can probably be inferred that you do not mean clinker masonry, but the roof tiles.

With concrete roof tiles, there is no additional cost. Here it is at most about various coating types.. or then the additional costs for colored roof tiles. With clay tiles, this is the case, as they are always engobed, glazed, or sintered tiles made from the red base material clay. These are therefore also more expensive. There may only be a potential saving here if you switch to another brand, with which you can often offset the engobe surcharge.

Well then... with [Tonziegel].. additional costs! With concrete roof tiles.. usually up to about... red-brown.. standard... gray, or light gray.. = color = additional costs.

Hello,

Today, concrete roof tiles, primarily from Braas, are usually installed as standard by most suppliers; Classic Red, Brick Red, Dark Red, Dark Brown, and Granite generally mark the standard colors. Engobed roof tiles – regardless of color – are not allowed in all building areas, and clay roof tiles are still rarely installed; both come at an additional cost. Instead of the latter, the more affordable option "double glazed," approx. €130-150.00/sqm of roof area, is recommended. Measured against the total volume, rather a smaller surcharge.

Best regards

Thanks, so darker shades of red are now standard, that reassures me. I could take all colors without any problems, but it's a matter of cost. I'm not building in a new development area.
