Frame Challenge: do you have to fill in everything? We also have a bit more slope than expected and (according to the current plan) will not fill the entire property but catch part of it with a retaining wall at the terrace and then slope it slightly again at the boundary. Otherwise, I can recommend the book "Der neue große Gartenplaner" by Peter Wirth on this topic. It has a complete chapter on terrain modeling

Architects can't manage it, which is why the client has to do it himself. :D

After I read the other thread, I think the architect actually solved it quite sensibly ;)

As for the topic of maintenance... my girlfriend's family has a holiday home in Oberwallis. There is only a hillside location and they had a larger embankment towards the road built up at a 40-45 degree angle back then. It's absolutely no fun to stand there with the brush cutter.

As far as care is concerned... my girlfriend's family has a holiday home in Upper Valais. There is only a slope there and back then they built up a larger embankment towards the road at a 40-45 degree angle. It’s absolutely no fun standing there with the mower.

Especially when the passing locals wrinkle their noses because the holiday home owners use the motormower ;-)
