We will simply eliminate overpopulation ourselves in the long run. Eventually, resources run out, and we fight each other over water or similar things. Or a meteor strikes, or a major plague breaks out. Then we as a race are wiped out or reduced to a minimum. The Earth recovers and other living beings continue to exist. I don't see any problems there.

Yes, the question is indeed what one leaves behind as worth living for one's children, if one has any.

Currently on television: nuclear phase-out decided in Switzerland. Well, hope dies last.

I don't need to. We as a society will take care of that.

Until then, I enjoy raising our children; and I will be even happier if I ever have the luck to become a grandfather.

Until then, at least I try everything so that my children learn to understand and experience that life itself is worth living and that you don't have to be scared of the future.
