By "age-appropriate" we mean that everything necessary is on one level and everything is possibly accessible by roller shutter or wheelchair (for example, guest rooms could be in the basement).

That's what I thought. What about washing machines, technology, and appliances that are rarely used? Keep in mind: you need to make many trips daily to fetch, do, or operate something.

If I take the idea from post #9 further, at -7 sqm it could already become a "negative saving" ;-) However, statics might not play a big role anymore (a 70 sqm bungalow will be a plain rectangular floor plan, with a truss roof it’s a simple matter).
