Garden land it is not yet. Something is growing, but. You have to level it (remove sinkholes, hollows), remove stones, cultivate, sow, roll. Karsten

It also depends a bit on what kind of soil you put on it and how long it is allowed to settle.
We have already spread our soil quite evenly, and it will remain there throughout the entire winter. When I walk on it, I barely sink in anymore. In other words, it doesn't need to be compacted much anymore. We have also done a pretty thorough stone removal. So in spring, just a final leveling and then the lawn will be laid. Running a roller over it and that's it.

You can work with different soil types. Put cheap stuff (unsieved, but without RC or similar) at the bottom, but there must be something proper on top.

Cheapest soil here for about €10/ton, decent soil from the compost plant about €30/ton including delivery WITHOUT installation.

Ok, so push away the current topsoil, put [billigen] underneath, and then put the pushed away [billigen] back on top?

Hope it won't all be too expensive...

Christian, your expertise is so extensive... please talk to a gardener about it. He also has connections. You are probably not from agriculture... right?
