Hello,

we are currently in the process of hiring a company for our flooring work. We would like to install click/design vinyl flooring, which costs 55 EUR/m2 including material in the first offer. Then there is the second offer with the statement that the floor must be skimmed first, and it costs 25 EUR/m2(!).

What do you think about this? I find that it is much too high compared to what I have found on the internet. The problem is that we have signed the first offer and cannot cancel the contract without additional costs.

I wouldn't be so sure about the terminability. Has he seen the ground before preparing the offer?

Hello emer,

actually yes. They were already in the house before the creation of the 1st offer. [Hat kurz erwähnt dass der Boden vielleicht gespachtelt werden muss], but that was not included in the 1st offer. If it is a fair price, we have no doubt about continuing with it.

What a fair price is, I cannot say. Whether you can get out of the contract, neither.

However, if he already says it, why doesn't he at least write it in - at least optionally?

A tip for the next time when requesting quotes: I always ask what different versions of execution and also the working time cost, in case something unplanned comes up. This often avoids the risk of "Otopia prices" and/or discussions in many places. And I can still change my mind 5 minutes before ordering materials and still know what it costs.

Hello emer,

thanks for the great tip! I will definitely keep that in mind next time...

This is our first experience, we learned a lot from it.. When I think about it, it could be worse.. Please keep your fingers crossed that we can move in at least on time...
