Hello to all house builders!

Since no base plaster was included for us, we have now obtained an offer from a plasterer. He measured about 20m² and charges €1300. We do not know if this price is reasonable or if it can be cheaper. We have also asked another plasterer, but he is taking his time and has not contacted us yet. So, we still have no comparison and therefore wanted to ask here in the forum if this price is okay. What do you think?
Thanks in advance

Best regards

The price is acceptable. Our price with the house manufacturer was directly 60€/sqm. It can certainly be cheaper if you look long enough. But it has to be done properly. Otherwise, you might as well do it yourself.

The second plasterer contacted me today, he will send me the offer. Let's see, maybe it will be cheaper, or maybe not

Best regards

Hello,
finally we have the second offer as well. What can I say... I am shocked. Actually, the second plasterer is in our town, exactly 550m from the construction site, but his offer blew me away, a whopping €2700. The first one has to drive almost 40km here and does it for half the price. And the most important thing is that the first one measured an area of about 20m² and the second one comes to 28m²!!!
I gave the order to the first plasterer, he works with our [GU] and also plastered the outside of our house. So, I am really disappointed with the plasterer here in town.

Hello,

Without knowing him, I am sure that a) he measured correctly and b) he knew he wouldn’t get the job either way. Because you don’t need a plasterer for a base coat; a facade builder will do as well

Rhenish greetings

You can shave your head yourself, then it's cheap, and you can hire Udo Walz for it.
The result is almost the same....

We have often experienced that too small orders were rejected by simply quoting high prices.
Maybe the local craftsman just pays his workers a good wage, and the other one doesn’t. You’ll never find out.

What I would do, however... calculate with 28 sqm at the first provider. Unless you have signed/accepted a flat-rate offer. Also a common trick, underestimate and then charge more. The offer then says something like billing based on on-site measurement ... or actual quantity, etc... Re-measuring can help... Adding rectangles together isn’t that hard.
